Types of Sliding Gates

1. Track Sliding Gates

This type of sliding yard gate moves along a metal track embedded in the ground. It is a budget-friendly option, but there is a risk of difficulties during rain, snow, and mud, as well as when driving vehicles over it.

2. Cantilever Sliding Gates

A cantilever gate moves 8–10 cm above the ground, without contact with dirt or debris. It consists of a load-bearing rail, rollers, guiding wheels, and stoppers that ensure smooth and silent movement, even in snow, dust, or sand.

Advantages of Cantilever Gates

  • No need for an in-ground track → no clogging from ice, sand, or gravel
  • Minimal maintenance – ideal for intensive use
  • High stability and resistance to wind and snow

Disadvantage: requires additional space at the back (the so-called “tail”) – ~1/3 of the opening.
